"My art is place specific and people specific." George Wyllie

P5 Elmvale Primary visited the exhibition, attending the Glasgow Schools' Reception and later making a video in which each of them recalled their favourite Wyllie scul?ture. Some of the pupils are seen here, just after filming their video on St Andrew's Day, hence the tartan.

As well as making a big, railway-inspired paper boat, pupils from P5 also took part in the Press Preview Day, when photographers visited the exhibition and other P5, Elmvale pupils acted as guides for Mr Russell when he visited the exhibition, explaining the Straw Locomotive to him. The Straw Locomotive was at the core of the children's investigation of George Wyllie's work, a way for them to explore the history of the local area, as well as artwork.

In January, working with the community, pupils in P5 will be going on to create their own Wyllie-inspired tile artwork, Scottish in theme, questions and all.
